It's beautiful - the lighting works so well and the shoes give this little extra that keeps the image interesting. I have a question though - how did you achieve a background without any shadows? I'm a beginner in photography and I'd love some advise from someone like you . Thanks!
Thank you! To keep your background bright and shadow-free, it's best to have an extra source of light pointed at the bg. If you're short on lighting equipment, it also helps to position the model far from the bg, so that their shadow falls on the floor as opposed to the bg. In this photo, I had an extra flash coming in from the left side which helped brighten the shadows, and I used very soft lighting and some editing in the Photoshop to make the light/shadow transition smooth.
The facial expression was meant that way, and I can definitely see the dissonance between that and the title. I guess it only makes sense to me, since I had to re-take this photograph after the first version didn't work out for me for personal reasons.
I figured everything was deliberate, you are too good at what you do for any of it to be a mistake. My thought when I looked at it was more like "Unimportant" would be a fitting title, but that's me. I can get the idea of a title from the shot, but getting the idea for the shot, that's another story! If our minds worked the same way I'd be doing awesome photos too.
